This mini tutorial has graphics that accompany our Honey Melt & Pour Soap Kit TWO - the kit flyer has full written instructions.
You can purchase the Honey Melt & Pour Soap Kit TWO on THIS PAGE
and select your preferred Fragrance or Essential Oil.
There are two short tutes here - one using the scrub granules, and one without. It's a good idea to have a glance down the graphics
for both before you decide which one you will be making, using whichever mould you have with your kit.
Tutorial 1 - Without Scrub Granules
Step One Dice the kilo of soap base into 1 - 2cm pieces. Place the amount of soap required for the mould you chose into the microwave safe jug and melt in bursts until liquid - take care not to overheat. Add Fragrance or Essential Oil and stir well to combine.
Step Two Keeping the jug low to the mould, carefully pour the soap into the mould cavities.
Step Three Continue filling all the cavities in the mould.
Step Four Now allow the soap to cool and set up fully before attempting to unmould.
Step Five Once cold, carefully release the air lock, and peel the mould back from the set soap.
Step Six Done! Wrap or store in an air tight jar.
Tutorial 2 - with Scrub Granules
These graphics use the Botanical Scrub Granules provided in the kit - remember you can use them with either mould design.
Step One Repeat the process of dicing and melting the soap base. Add firstly Fragrance or Essential Oil and then scrub granules, and stir well to combine after each addition.
Step Two Now make a test pour - you need to check that the soap is almost syrupy - too hot and it will be too thin and runny, and the granules will fall to the bottom.
Once you have the temperature and consistency of the soap correct, you can continue to pour.
Step Three After finishing the pour allow a couple of hours to set up completely before attempting to unmould.
Step Five Once fully set up, unmould as described previously; simply peel the mould away to release the airlock and pop out the soap. Wrap or store in an air tight jar.
If you have upgraded to include the Gold Mica: it is the finishing touch if you like some bling on your soap!
Simply take an old, small paint brush and carefully brush the Mica over the soap - do not inhale the dust. After brushing over the soap, carefully blow the excess Mica away.
If you have a tin of hair spray in the bathroom, you can give a quick spray to secure the mica, if not, or if you prefer not to use it that is fine, just take extra care when handling your soap.
