Our Eco Glitter Sprinkled, Ombre Layered Soap Loaf is after Bramble Berry's "Mermaid Loaf".
This mini tutorial has graphics that accompany our Mermaids & Fairies Melt & Pour Soap Kit - the kit flyer has full written instructions.
You have chosen from Raspberry Mica, Mermaid Blue or New Grape Micas. The instructions are the same for all three colours, and we used Pink Raspberry in our tutorial!
You can purchase the Mermaids & Fairies Melt and Pour Soap Kit on THIS PAGE
and select your preferred colour and Fragrance or Essential Oil.
Step One - Fill the blue spritzer bottle with Isopropyl. Now add ½ tsp Isopropyl Alcohol to the small cup and add ½ tsp mica powder and carefully stir.
Step Two: Prepare your work space, place the mould on the digital scales.
Step Three: After melting the whole kilo of soap in the larger jug carefully transfer the soap to the long spouted jug..
Step Four: Empty all of the Eco Glitter into the melted soap and begin to stir.
Step Five: If you have dry spots of glitter, use spritz's of Isopropyl Alcohol to help dissipate these.
Now add the 20g/ml of Bramble Berry Fragrance or Essential Oil and stir in carefully and thoroughly.
Step Six: Tare the scales to zero and keeping the spout low down to the mould rim, pour 150g of soap base.
Step Seven: Spritz the surface with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove surface bubbles.
Step Eight: Add the first drops of colour to the soap,
Step Nine: Now carefully stir the colour through. If you find the soap has set up a little, carefully reheat for 30 seconds or so.
Step Ten: Now spray the set up soap in the mould generously with Isopropyl Alcohol.
Step Eleven: Tare the scales back to zero, and then place the spatula over the mould and pour 150g of soap over the spatula.
Step Twelve: Now add the next dose of colour using the guide in the notes, stir well to combine,
Step Thirteen: Spritz the set up layer with Isopropyl Alcohol ready for the next pour.
Step Fourteen: Tare the scales back to zero again, place the spatula over the mould and pour another 150g of soap over the spatula.
As you can see, you slowly begin to see the colour getting darker as you pour each layer. Initially you can't notice
the colour, but slowly around the third or fourth pour the colour begins to show clearly.
Step Fifteen: From now on repeat the same process: Allow the previous layer to set up, re-warm the soap base, add more colour,
spray the previous layer of soap, tare the scales, and pour 150g over the spatula, spritz with alcohol.
Step Sixteen: For the final layer, add the rest of the soap and the spritz. Allow the soap several hours or overnight to setup.
Then slice and allow a few days for the soap to fully harden in a nice dry environment.
Wrap the soap if storing or selling.
The kit comes in three colours: Pink Raspberry, Mermaid Blue and New Grape - match to your choice of scent.
