Nipaguard® SCV is a robust preservative blend that offers a broad range of efficacy. One of its main raw materials, called Sorbitol, is produced from the sugar of wheat and corn, while the other, Caprylic Acid, is derived from palm or coconut oil. (INCI: Sorbitan Caprylate) It offers a high level of fungal protection and contains actives geared towards preservation at a low pH. Challenge and efficacy testing show comparable results to parabens for both leave-on and rinse-off formulations.
Nipaguard® SCV is part of the Nipaguard Zero line of optimised preservative blends that contain no parabens, yet deliver comparable performance. Nipaguard® SCV is a synergistic broad spectrum blend of antimicrobial agents comprising Velsan SC®, Phenoxyethanol, Benzyl Alcohol and Benzoic Acid.

Applications: Leave-on products, Rinse-off products, Wet Wipes, difficult to preserve formulations
Including: Highly aqueous products (oil in water emulsions - lotions and creams), room sprays, spritzers, toners, shampoo, conditioner and sugar scrubs (anhydrous).
pH range: 4.0 - 6.5
Add: during cool down phase
Solubility: Sparingly soluble in water, readily soluble in oil phase ingredients and many organic solvents
Recommended Usage Rate: 0.5 - 1.0 % (EU Max is 3.4 %)
