Aloe Vera Gel

Clear, soothing Aloe Vera Gel is unscented and can be applied directly to the skin or at 5 - 15% in moisturisers.  Aloe can help sooth sun affected skin.  Our gel holds additives and essential oils (and fragrance) well, and does not break down over time (ie it remains stable).

This Aloe Gel is useful in lotions and moisturisers as it helps the cream main volume and fulness in slightly thinner formulations.

Aloe Vera is obtained from the leaves of the "Aloe barbadensis miller" plant, a member of the Lily family,.  The plant maerial is dried and purity ensured by removing any extraneous membrane material (which is irritating for sensitive skin).  Our gel is a ready to use base to which you can use topically or add other water soluble ingredients

Usage:

• Include in the water phase when making:  Creams, Lotions, Shampoos, Shower Gels, After-Shave Gels and After-sun products:  5 - 15%
• "as is" as a carrier for direct application with the addition of Essential Oils etc.: 1 - 100%
• Aloe Gel can be added to Melt and Pour Soap if desired, but for Cold Process we like to use Aloe Vera Juice (pure) from the health food store

We do not stock the cellulose based gel because the gellant goes brown, breaking down in formulation after a few months. 
To ensure the gel stays perfect over storage it has been preserved with Germall Plus - the most suited preservative for this formulation.
