SURPLUS Liquid Dispersion - Yellow Oxide

This is a concentrated natural water-based dispersion of high purity yellow iron oxide in a water/glycerin mixture, making it water dispersible.

Ecocert standard compliance.

It is suitable for Cold Process Soap and has been tested in clear Melt and Pour soap.  It failed our tests in opaque (white) Melt and Pour Soap.

This prepared liquid dispersion offers high compatibility with aqueous cosmetic products and good performance in natural O/W emulsions and aqueous gels.

Note:  Please shake before use; the oxide will separate from the glycerin when unused. This is very concentrated; we recommend diluting further with glycerin at a 2:1 ratio (2 glycerin : 1 colour).

Product Suitability:

Melt & Pour Soap:  Yes, but doesn't do very well in opaque (white) bases
Cold Process Soap:  Yes, with mechancial mixing
Liquid Soap & Shampoo:  Suitable, but the pigment is very heavy.  We recommend a test batch.
Cosmetics including Eye area:  Yes
Lip Products:  Yes, but not anhydrous
This Colour is a:  Liquid Non bleeding Pigment
Pigment dispersions are not suitable for Oil based products

Our Test Results:

Cold Process Soap:  Produces a true yellow ochre colour at full strength, but if you would like a pastel lemon-gold colour, use less.
Melt & Pour Soap:  In Clear MP Soap produces a dark yellow ochre at full strength.  Not suitable for opaque MP Soap.
pH sensitivity: Stable in high pH products
Colour Fading: This colour is not light sensitive and not prone to fading
Colour Bleeding (Migration): Non bleeding, suitable for embedding, layering and swirling
