Blue Violet Mica bears a striking resemblance to the 2022 Pantone® Colour of the Year, Very Peri. With a Blue-Violet base and a lovely pink shift, this subtle colour will breathe joy and creativity into your projects.
This colour brings a subtle violet-pink sheen to clear Melt & Pour Soap bases. Colour appears to fade and mutate a little in opaque Melt & Pour and Cold Process Soap so we recommend a higher usage rate.
Suggested Usage: Start with about ½ to 1 teaspoon per 500g of scrub, bath bombs, etc. For Melt & Pour Soap, mix 1 teaspoon pigment with 1 tablespoon of 99 percent isopropyl alcohol. Add ½ teaspoon of dispersed mica at a time to the melted soap. Not recommended for Cold Process Soap. We recommend adding Polysorbate 80 when using in Bath Bombs.

Our Test Results:
Produces a very pale two tone mauve colour in clear MP Soap Base and a pastel with little to no shimmer in white Melt & Pour Soap Base - it is not the best choice for violets in soap. The easiest way to incorporate this mica in MP Soap is to moisten it with some Isopropyl Alcohol, glycerine or water making a slurry, then mix in. A ratio of 1:3 works well. We always recommend small batch testing before embarking on a larger project.
pH sensitivity: | Unstable in high pH products such as CP Soap. |
Colour Fading: | Fairly stable - primary use is for lips, eye products and skincare. |
Colour Bleeding (Migration): | Not tested |
