Rosemary Oleoresin Extract (ROE) is an antioxidant, which means it can slow the oxidation and rancidity of oils, helping extend the freshness of your formulations.
To maximise its effectiveness in fixed oils such as Hemp or Avocado, ROE must be added when the oils are fresh, before any oxidation has begun. It also performs best when thoroughly dispersed. Because ROE is a thick, resinous liquid, blending can be challenging; we recommend removing a small portion of your base oil, mixing the ROE into this portion until fully combined, and then returning the mixture to the main batch.
ROE can also help extend the shelf life of sugar and salt scrubs, balms, creams, and lotions. For these products, add it during the cool‑down phase or at the same point you incorporate your preservative.
