This is a quick and easy, very effective feminine spa Soap DIY. It is great for Mothers Day, Valentine's Day or just for when you are 'feeling a bit pink' project! You don't need a lot of ingredients, it smells divine as we've scented it with Rose Quartz Fragrance and doesn't need any colourants at all! It gets its pink spa look from the gorgeous, exfoliating Himalayan Pink Salt crystals which are embedded into crystal clear soap. We have used the coarse granules, which are VERY exfoliating - this is to get the 'look'. If you want to create a finer scrub, use the fine granules, but you won't get the same transparent look of the salt in the clear soap.
Ingredients:
- 300g Crystal Triple Butter Melt & Pour Soap Base
- 150g Crystal ST Melt & Pour Soap Base
- Coarse Pink Himalayan Salt
- 4 - 5ml Rose Quartz Fragrance
- Isopropyl Alcohol & Spritzer Set
- BW Flex Mould - 4 Deep Square
- Long Spout Jug - Optional
Equipment:
Microwave safe jugs - to hold 500ml
Stirring stick, spoon or spatula
Knife and board to dice the soap
Method:
Chop 300g Crystal Triple Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base in 2 - 3 cm cubes.
Place in the microwave safe jug, and melt in short bursts until liquid.
Stir to dissolve any small pieces that remain.
Add 4 - 5ml (¾ teaspoon) Rose Quartz Fragrance Oil and stir well to combine.
Spritz with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any surface bubbles and then pour into the mould cavities
leaving ½ cm head room at the top.
Spritz with Isopropyl Alcohol to remove any surface bubbles and leave to set.
Check the surface of the soap with your fingertip. Press gently! If it is firm it is time to prepare and pour the clear layer.
Dice 150g Crystal ST Melt and Pour Soap Base and place in the small jug.
Heat in short bursts until liquid.
There are two ways to add the salt! Select your preferred method:
Method 1. Spritz the set soap well with Isopropyl Alcohol and then sprinkle an even layer of large crystals on the soap.
Pour the hot, clear soap over the top to just below the rim of the mould cavities.
Spritz with Isopropyl Alcohol immediately.
Method 2. Spritz the set soap well with Isopropyl Alcohol and pour the hot, clear soap into the mould a few mm below the rim.
Add the large salt granules quite quickly, then spritz with Isopropyl Alcohol immediately.
(The cold salt crystals can make the soap set up very fast)
Allow the soap to fully set up.
Remove from the mould and wrap in cello or shrink bags.
