Our Organic Basil Pure Essential Oil has a sweetly, crisp, herbaceous aroma finishing with a richly balsamic base note.  It is slightly camphorous smelling  and is often used in blends and perfumery to contribute a cool, woody character with a touch of anise.

It is a fairly strong and penetrating oil and can dominate a blend, so add cautiously in small amounts.  Basil is a useful inclusion in insect repelling blends.

There are numerous references throughout history detailing the use of Sweet Basil Herb both medicinally and in culinary use.  It has been used in medicaments, teas, herbal remedies and traditional foods. (Do not take any essential oils internally).

Blends well with: Bergamot, Black Pepper, Cardamom, Citronella, Clary Sage, Coriander, Geranium, Hyssop, Lavender, Lime, Marjoram, Melissa, Neroli, Oakmoss, Orange, Peppermint, Rosemary ct Verbenone, Sandalwood, Spearmint, Verbena, Ylang Ylang. and Bramble Berry's Pineapple Cilantro Fragrance!  Note: Dilute well (a little goes a long way!)
