This Calendula infused Cold Process Soap Recipe features our Baby Bee Buttermilk Fragrance Oil, and our Calendula Petals stirred through for a wonderfully textured soap. The fragrance has a soothing scent quality, making it the perfect addition to baby, toddler and products that soothe the skin. Golden Oats is another beautiful fragrance that suits this recipe very well.
We use our Organic Calendula in Sunflower Oil, so we have a known sap value for this ingredient. If using a different infused oil, please recalculate the recipe to ensure you have the correct amount of sodium hydroxide for your chosen oil.

Hydrate Buttermilk Powder with some distilled water in a small jug or large beaker
Combine oils and lye water, Sodium Lactate Plus and bring to light to medium trace.
Add hydrated Buttermilk Powder and Infused Calendula Oil and stir to combine thoroughly.
Now stir in the fragrance and give a quick stick blend to combine.
Add a tablespoon of Calendula Petals and manually stir through the soap.
Pour into the mould.
If you have decided on a textured top, do this now with the back of a spoon or the soap spatula.
Sprinkle with a few Calendula Petals and give a quick spritz with alcohol (if using)
Insulate if desired to encourage an even, hot gel. Unmould after a few days.
