For the coffee lover in your life!  Using the discolouration caused by Turkish Mocha fragrance, coffee grinds and creamy Goatsmilk Melt and Pour Soap Base these soaps are sure to please.  They smell delish, and are a honey-caramel colour due to the discolouration of the Turkish Mocha fragrance and the coffee grounds I've added.  If you wish to deepen the brown so it's more solid, add some Espresso Mica colourant.  If you decide to go with the Espresso Martini Fragrance Oil you may want to add some Vanilla Colour Stabiliser to hold back the darker discolouration.

We've used our 6 Half Cylinder Silicone Soap Mould for this design.  If you prefer a touch of chocolate in your coffee, try our Turkish Mochaccino Fragrance which also suits this style of soap.

The Coffee grounds in soap are slightly exfoliating and help remove kitchen odours from your hands.

Coffee and Cream Melt and Pour Soap

Ingredients:

Coffee and Cream Melt and Pour Soap

If you don't have pods, you'll be able to access free grounds at your local coffee bar!

Equipment:

1 Litre microwave safe jug
Glass beaker or measuring glass
Spatula, knife etc
Thermometer - Useful but not essential
Isopropyl Alcohol and Spritz Bottle - Useful but not essential

Barista Turkish Mocha Goatsmilk Natural Soap

Method:

  • Prepare the coffee grounds and ensure they are dry - I used the contents of 2 pods for this quantity of soap
  • Dice the Goatsmilk Melt & Pour Soap Base into the microwave safe jug, and heat in microwave in 30 second bursts on medium low until melted - stir every so often
  • The ideal temperature for the soap is 60°C when melted
  • If using espresso coffee add this into the melted soap base now and stir to combine well
  • Measure the Turkish Mocha Fragrance into a small beaker and add the coffee grounds.  Stir well to combine and remove any little lumps

  • Combine the coffee and fragrance mixture to the melted soap and stir well.  If you want to make a solid coloured soap you can add some Liquid Brown Oxide.  I didn't use colour, but if you are, add this now and stir to combine - this is optional - it will depend on the look you want

  • When the temperature has reached approximately 55 - 50°C pour soap into moulds (Note:  the soap will begin setting up at 49°C, and if possible i like to pour at 50 - 55°C for the best suspension of the coffee particles.  If you aren't using a thermometer, a skin will start to form at 50°C, that's how you know it's the right temperature to suspend the coffee particles but still pour.

  • Allow to cool completely before unmoulding, which is so easy with this mould!

  • You can now wrap the soap, or if you want to decorate them with soap drizzle have the alcohol ready.

Barista Turkish Mocha Goatsmilk Natural Soap

  • To drizzle some soap over the top, melt a teaspoon of clear soap, add some Chocolate Gold Mica and stir well to remove any little lumps.  If there are still some little dry spots use a spritz of alcohol to dissipate them
  • Cut the very tip from a disposable Pipette and use this to drizzle over the top.  Spritz the soap with isopropyl alcohol, draw up some melted soap and then drizzle over the top.

  • That's it you are done!
  • Wrap the soap for storage or place in an airtight jar.
