Shampoo Ultra Thick Liquid is a vegetable derived (coconut) thickener, which is an excellent option for thickening pre-made soap and shampoo bases, as well as your own shampoos, bath gel and liquid soaps.
The beauty of using Liquid Shampoo Ultra Thick is that it is cold processable, which means you can add it to finished liquid soaps and shampoo etc. The pastilles are not suitable to be added "afterwards" to your products. All liquid foamy products are affected by the addition of Essential Oils and Fragrance, it's fact of life! Some will thicken up, most will thin it down like water. Our recommendation is to always add Shampoo Ultra Thick in the smallest percentage first, stir and wait an hour or so to ensure you aren't overdosing the product. If you get up to that 8% it will be thick, sticky and like goo!
This conditioning thickener is 45% active and doesn't require heating or neutralisation. It also contributes mildness and a conditioned after feel in your rinse off products. Ultra Thick is compatible with anionic, nonionic, and amphoteric surfactants and is very easy to use. In a nutshell, it thickens, stabilises the lather (foam), is an emollient AND anti-irritant.
It is best used in a pH range between 5.0 and 9.0

We have had some success with this ingredient in potassium based soaps, but you will need to trial it to ensure it suits your product.
