BRAMBLE BERRY TUTORIAL
FEATURING LUSH SUCCULENT FRAGRANCE OIL
Original Project can be found HERE

This cute design is created by embedding succulent soap into clear melt and pour. The bars are perfect for any plant lover! This is an intermediate project - we recommend getting a few batches of melt and pour soap under your belt before trying it. They require patience and a good understanding of temperature.

The bars are scented with Lush Succulent Fragrance Oil, which is a fresh blend of cucumber, bamboo, oakmoss, and sandalwood. It's the perfect fragrance for this project. Not only does it complement the green design, but Lush Succulent Fragrance Oil doesn't discolor and it's clear, so you can see the succulents inside.

Have fun when creating your embeds. You can use an opaque base (such as white or goat milk), or a clear base (such as clear or aloe) for a more saturated color. This project comes with 3 shades of green Color Blocks so you can create custom blends, make more than one color per batch, or create a multi-colored succulent.

It's important to keep an eye on temperature. We recommend melting the clear soap to about 140-150° F initially. That allows bubbles to rise to the top and keeps the base as clear as possible. Then, let the clear soap cool to about 125-130° F before pouring so it doesn't melt the embeds.

We also recommend having a spray bottle of 99% Isopropyl Alcohol nearby during the process. It gets rid of bubbles so you can see the embeds clearly.

Instructions

  • Chop 6 ounces of Goat Milk Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container and add a small chunk of the Color Block of your choice. Melt in the microwave using 10 second bursts. Stir to fully incorporate the Color Block. Note: You can use whatever Color Block you like, as well as Clear Melt and Pour Soap if you prefer a more saturated succulent.
  • Pour the melted soap into each succulent mold cavity. Don't fill it all the way - pour enough to fill in the details and create a flat surface. You'll have a small amount of soap leftover for 2 more succulents. Spritz with 99% Isopropyl Alcohol to get rid of bubbles. Set the mold aside and allow the soap to cool and harden for 1 hour.
  • Then, remove the embeds from the mold.
  • Reheat the remaining green soap in the microwave using 5-10 second bursts. Pour the rest into 2 cavities. Spritz with alcohol to get rid of bubbles and allow to harden for 1-2 hours. Remove from the mold and set the embeds aside. Note: The embeds below were made with different soap bases and Color Blocks.
  • Chop 26 ounces of Clear Melt and Pour Soap Base into small, uniform cubes. Place them in a heat-safe container. Melt in the microwave using 30 second bursts. Stir in 0.4 ounces of Lush Succulent Fragrance Oil.
  • Take the temperature of your soap. You want it to reach about 145° F so the bubbles rise up and out of the soap. If necessary, reheat in the microwave using 10 second bursts. Allow the soap to sit for about 1-2 minutes and spritz the top with 99% isopropyl alcohol periodically to pop the bubbles.
  • Spritz the top of the succulent embeds with alcohol and place them face down into each cavity of the 6 Cavity Half Cylinder Silicone Mold. Check the temperature of the clear soap. It should be between 125-130° F. Use a fork or spoon to remove any clumps of clear soap that may have formed at the top of the container and slowly pour the clear soap into each mold cavity. Gently press the succulent down to allow clear soap to cover the embed, and then fill with more soap. Sprtiz with alcohol to get rid of bubbles. Continue this process for each cavity.
  • Allow the soap to fully cool and harden for at least 4 hours or up to overnight. Remove from the mold and enjoy!
