Colloidal Oatmeal USP is a micro-fine, ground oatmeal that is not rough or abrasive. In lotions and creams it can create a barrier over the skin making it a great additive for those with extra dry skin. In soap it is often used to alleviate itchiness. Colloidal Oatmeal contains polysaccharides (sugars) and natural proteins which makes it a soothing addition to your all your bath and body products.
Like milk, oatmeal baths and skin treatments are recommended for people with a range of sensitive skin conditions as it provides a soothing and comforting effect. The ultrafine texture of Colloidal Oatmeal suits most skincare products including lotions, soaps, masks and soaks. The smooth texture of Colloidal Oatmeal makes it ideal for use in a wide range of products and treatments that soothe and protect the skin. Colloidal Oatmeal retains the moisturising effects of the whole oat grain but disperses easily in bath water and can also be added to creams and lotions for use in topical products.
