Guar Conditioner is a derivitive of Guar Gum and is considered a cationic conditioner. Guar Conditioner is THE key ingredient in conditioning shampoos to leave hair soft, shiny and silky. Guar Conditioner is also known as Guar Silk and Guar Cat.
Lotions and creams with Guar Conditioner provide conditioning to the skin and has a soft, silky feel. Guar Conditioner is quickly and easily dispersed in room temperature water or Vegetable Glycerine - sprinkle on top and allow to sit 30 minutes and then mix well to ensure it is fully hydrated. As Guar Conditioner is highly substantive including it in lotions and creams will enhance the conditioning and silky feel. Typically 0.15 - 0.25% is recommended.
Guar Conditioner can be used as a softening agent in shampoo, and also a primary viscosifier (a usage level of 1.0 - 1.5% is recommended based on the total formulation). For lighter conditioning effects, Guar Conditioner can be included from 0.15 - 0.25%.
Note: Although imparting a silky feel to to skin, Guar Conditioner is not a suitable replacement for silk fibres in soap, but does give Vegans and Vegetarians a natural, silky option in their body and hair products.

TIP: If you experience "fall out" within your formulation, neutralise the pH of the guar solution with Citric Acid, checking with a pH strip and you will find that it will disperse more easily. (eg: If using 0.3% Guar Conditioner, combine with a portion of the water with 0.3% Citric Acid.)
