These luscious little whipped butter pots are the perfect small gift to friends, family, or even customers if you want to show your appreciation with a small token of thanks. They smell delish and are very easy to make.
One thing to remember, as they are anhydrous (all oils and butters) they don't require a preservative, but these are not hot weather friendly, so do keep this in mind. You can soften them down by substituting Liquid Shea for cold winters, or adjust the harder Shea Butter with more Mango Butter in warmer weather. If you are selling them at an event which is quite warm, just take a little eski to store your stock in.
We’ve kept these simple, and used Cashmere Silk Fragrance, a universally loved fragrance oil for moisturising skin care.
We have used our Mini Mushroom Jars for this project, but it also works well with our Scrub, Spa & Mask Jars, or our 30ml Double Wall Jars, if you would prefer a larger container.
Remember: Whipped butters should be kept away from intense heat and are not always suitable for tubes.
Each batch makes approximately 200g in weight - but this is whipped so the volume is larger than the weight.
Ingredients:
- 70g Mango Butter or Olive Butter
- 100g Organic Shea Butter
- 20g/ml Silc-Oliv
- 1ml (20 drops) Rosemary-Oleoresin-Extract
- 5g/ml Cashmere Silk Fragrance
Equipment You'll Need:
- Mini Mushroom Jars, Scrub, Spa & Mask Jars, Small or 30ml Double Wall Jar - you'll need 10 to 20 pots, depending on which one you choose, and how fluffy you make the butter.
- 1 dropper or Pipette
- 1 Pyrex jug or mixing bowl - 500ml - 750ml size
- Small electric balloon whisk - not a stick blender as you need to whip air into the mixture
- Spoon, spatulas etc.
Method:
- No need to heat this recipe as the combination of Shea and Mango Butters will whip at room temperature. However, if it's a really cold winter day it can help to whip the mixture if the butters have been softened slightly.
- Place the Shea Butter, Mango Butter and Silc-Oliv into the mixing jug/bowl and use the electric beater on it's own and whip with the balloon whisk attachment for a couple of minutes.
- As the butters start to turn light and creamy, adjust the speed - you can increase the speed beating until the mixture is nearly white in colour.
- Now add the Rosemary Oleoresin Extract and Cashmere Silk Fragrance and mix in well to combine.
- It's ready once you have reached a nice fluffy texture that you are happy with.
- Carefully spoon into the pots, using a bread and butter knife or spatula to scrape into the pots, wipe the rims and you can lid them up immediately.
