Sepimax Zen® is a versatile pre-neutralised polymer that can create transparent aqueous gels on its own, or can work as a thickener and stabiliser in emulsions and surfactant based systems. It can be used in many personal care formulations (eg shampoo and body wash) to create thicker product with a rich and elegant touch, leaving a velvety feel on the skin. Basically, this is a polymer for making clear gels and adding a lighter skin feel in some moisturiser formulations.
Sepimax Zen® was designed to handle up to 10% salt and produces finer and softer foams in a personal care products. It works synergistically with fatty alcohols (eg. cetyl, cetearyl, or behenyl alcohols) to increase the viscosity in emulsions quite dramatically (use it up to 1% in the oil phase).
