I was looking for a light, summery cream - sort of half way between a lotion and a moisture cream, and this is it!
There is no greasy after feel, and its light, and perfect for a quick all over freshen up.  Really useful after the pool or if you have been out in the wind.  It is light, not rich or heavy, but is designed to be a "quick fix" or to freshen up when you are on the run.  My Body Yoghurt does contain our gorgeous Organic Shea Butter, but it's still a lovely light lotion.  It has a light yoghurt consistency - low fat yoghurt!  Although created for the body, I love this on my face too, especially if you include Olive Squalane and other goodies for facial creams.

If you have never made a lotion before, we recommend reading full Lotion Making Instructions HERE

Ingredients:

Water Phase A

Oil Phase B

Additive Phase C

Method:

  • Measure Water Phase ingredients in a 1 litre Pyrex container. Heat to 75°C
  • Measure Oil Phase ingredients into a smaller Pyrex jug.  Heat to 75°C
  • Carefully and slowly pour the Oil Phase into the Water Phase and use a stick blender on low to enable the ingredients to emulsify.  A hand mixer can also be used, but this takes a little longer and does tend to whip too much air into the lotion.  Keep the blender below the surface so you do not to create air bubbles
  • Let this sit for 10 - 15 minutes to cool.  Initially the cream will have the consistency of milk, but as the mixture cools, it will start to thicken.  Give the mixture a "whizz" every 5 - 10 minutes to keep the emulsion smooth and homogenous
  • When approximately 40°C (baby bottle temperature) add Phase C ingredients and blend through
  • Let mixture cool completely, manually stirring occasionally to keep homogenous and smooth
  • Once completely cold, your yoghurt is now ready to be put into cosmetic jars, tubs or Malibu Tubes

Customising:  You can substitute your favourite Herbal Extract instead of the Hydrolyzed Oats, or another protein, which are all great for your skin.  You can also substitute any of the oil portion with small amounts of luxury oils such as Meadowfoam Oil, Rosehip Oil, Infused Carrot, Infused Calendula, Olive Squalane etc.
