Sometimes it’s fun to have a play with colour and soap!  This project is just that, a geometric styled soap, but not with perfectly straight lines, a more relaxed geometry!  After unmoulding, cut half the bars diagonally, for a unique soap bar shape too!

Ingredients:

Equipment:

Several microwave safe jugs
Spoons or stirring sticks
Low props for the mould - I used plastic rulers
Electronic Scales - helpful though not essential
Thermometer - helpful but not essential

The finer details:

  • To make a striking contrast, I’ve mixed bold, bright colours, with white Shea Butter Melt and Pour Soap Base
  • Crisp Apple Rose Fragrance is “water white” – this ensures there is no discolouration later on down the track.
  • I poured at 65 °C, and used 2 or 3 rulers for each shift in height and angle

  • SUBSTITUTIONS:  Due to the recent fire that destroyed our premises and stock, we recommend the above changes.  Note:  To use the colour blocks, shave pieces of colour into the melted soap and stir to dissolve.  If using the Budget-Wise Deep Square mould adjust the depth of the layers and stripes as the depth of the mould is less.  The other alternative is to make a long loaf, and then slice into cubes.

I eyeballed all the soap pours – the coloured soap is around 2 – 3mm thick.  I used around 40ml of Fragrance, (splitting this eveny into the layers as I mixed in the colour).
